EVIDENCE BASED TRAFFIC ENGINEERING
Eagle Traffic provides practical solutions that balance engineering, planning, and commercial objectives.
Simon Nitkiewicz
I am a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) with over 13 years of experience in traffic and transport planning. I have consulted on more than 700 projects across Queensland and New South Wales, ranging from small-scale retail developments to regional master plans. I have also contributed to major education, industrial, commercial, sporting, and infrastructure projects, including ministerial infrastructure designations and large-scale key corridor infrastructure upgrades.
My approach combines technical excellence with practical, commercially focused advice, helping clients navigate the planning process efficiently while achieving outcomes that satisfy project objectives and regulatory requirements.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Eagle Traffic provide practical and innovative traffic engineering solutions that help communities, businesses, and developments move safely and efficiently.
Traffic Impact Assessments
We assess how a proposed development will interact with the surrounding transport network, including traffic generation, access, intersections, parking and road safety.
Our advice identifies practical solutions to manage potential impacts, support the approval process, and help developments operate safely and efficiently without imposing unnecessary infrastructure requirements.
Access Strategy & Intersection Assessment
We help determine the most appropriate location, form and operation of site access points and nearby intersections.
By considering traffic volumes, turning movements, sight distance, capacity and safety, we develop practical access solutions that support efficient site layouts, respond to road authority expectations, and provide a clear pathway to approval.
Parking Strategy & Provision
We establish an appropriate, evidence-based level of parking for each development, considering its location, users, operating characteristics and expected demand.
Rather than applying generic planning rates, we seek efficient and practical outcomes that avoid unnecessary overprovision and support reduced parking requirements where they can be properly justified.
Road Layout Design
We assist with the preparation of concept functional road layouts to support master planning, development applications and efficient design.
Our advice considers access, intersections, internal circulation, vehicle manoeuvrability, servicing, pedestrians, cyclists and applicable standards, helping establish a practical layout early and reducing the risk of costly redesign later in the project.
Master Planning & Feasibility Advice
Early transport advice can significantly influence the feasibility and long-term success of a project.
We help shape road networks, access locations, development staging and movement strategies before key decisions become difficult or expensive to change, creating layouts that use land efficiently while accommodating future growth and the needs of all transport modes.
State-Controlled Road Assessment
We help clients navigate the additional assessment and referral requirements that apply when a development affects a state-controlled road.
By identifying access, safety, capacity and infrastructure issues early, we can develop a proportionate technical response, address road authority concerns and reduce the risk of unexpected requirements or approval delays.
Independent Peer Review
We provide impartial reviews of traffic engineering reports, transport studies and design documentation prepared by others.
Our review tests the methodology, assumptions, analysis and conclusions, helping clients identify technical risks, strengthen their position and gain confidence that the advice is accurate, appropriately supported and capable of withstanding scrutiny from approval authorities and stakeholders.
Road Authority Liaison & Negotiation
We provide experienced technical support when dealing with local councils and state road authorities throughout the planning and approval process.
This may include responding to information requests, preparing technical justifications and participating in meetings or negotiations to resolve outstanding issues and achieve practical, defensible and timely outcomes for the project.
Expert Evidence & Technical Opinions
We stand behind our professional advice and can continue to support our work where it is challenged during the approval or legal process.
This may include preparing technical responses, participating in conferences, providing expert reports and presenting evidence before courts, tribunals or planning panels. Our opinions are clear, independent and supported by sound engineering analysis.
